The OEM 991 Turbo's plenum is T-shaped, which means that the airflow from the throttle body suddenly changes direction as it is split to each side of the intake manifold. Designing a Y-shaped plenum makes more sense than a T-shaped plenum. During the process of developing this plenum, we spent a lot of time simulating the flow of the Y-shaped internal design. We performed flow simulations on our CAD system and real-world tests of the SuperFlow SF-1020 flow stool on 3D printed models.
